I just learned of this after maintaining loose communications for over 30 years. I shared many verses with Ed and many meals as well. I will miss Ed.

I was an old friend of Neds' at Merrill David.  

What an awesome man!



I was dismayed to learn of Ed`s passing. As a substitute teacher, he would often be cleaning in the classroom as I was closing up for the day. We would have discussions on how to cook healthy... Ed volunteered  for our DARE basketball game , running the scorers table.  He did it with great enthusiasm ! Emerson students benefitted by his hard work ethic keeping the school safe and clean.

Having known Ed from my volunteering at Emerson Elementary and seeing him walking along the avenues in Lakewood,
I knew and saw him to be kind, friendly, observant and to have reached a sense of peace and acceptance in his outward demeanor…a true reflection of who he had become inside…Perhaps he will continue this path wherever his soul takes him…Whatever happens from here is, again, his journey …
I am very grateful to have seen and felt peace personified…

Ed would wish me happy birthday and gave me a pastry.  He was a nice man.  

Ed was a kind and gentle soul who was dedicated to his job and always worked so hard.  He loved to talk about the St. Ed's football team and how they were performing.  He loved the classical music I would play in my room sometimes after a long day.  He was always making me laugh. I will truly miss seeing come through my door each day after school.

Edward - I will always hear your kind words, words of encouragement,  and your gut snorting laugh.  I will always remember lunch with friends, your love for Chinese food and your grace with chopsticks, you always had handy.  I always admired your loyalty, thoughtfulness,  and humbleness.  You were a true friend, a great coworker, and a great man.  I became a better person because if you.  You will be dearly missed my friend.  As always, your part of my family.  Mary

Ed and I would often chat after school.  He was such an interesting guy and loved hearing about my chickens.  He asked so many questions about them.  Ed always was happy to help and loved to share his baked goods with the staff.  He is really missed.

On Boss' Day, Ed split a muffin with me that he had made and he had written me a happy boss' day note.  He let me know the ingredients and that that the fruit was raisins. It was good! Always so thoughtful!
