Elfriede Klein

Elfriede Klein (nëe Wieshofer), age 88, passed from this life into God’s loving hands on November 9, 2021. She leaves her sons, Peter Franz Klein (Diane) and Paul Ernest Klein (Pamela Ferguson), her grandchildren, Danielle (Ryan), Peter Jr. (Rachel), Hannah, and Christian in addition to her great-grandchildren, Alex and Peter. She was reunited in heaven with her devoted husband, Ernst, her parents, Franz and Frida Wieshofer, her brother, Franz, her sisters, Gertraud and Hermine, and numerous other family members and friends in both Europe and the United States.

Born on August 14, 1933, in Hörsching, Austria, Elfriede and Ernst, along with their oldest son immigrated to the United States in 1954, relocating in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to helping her husband and raising their family, she worked at Cleveland Hopkins Airport and for the Berlitz Language School where she taught German to American businesspeople. She was proud of her knowledge of history and politics, and she kept herself informed about world events through newscasts and a constant array of literature. She treasured her time spent in her garden, where she continued to work almost daily up until her death. She often said that she could never leave her beautiful gardens and her family is forever grateful that she never had to do so.
