James Carl Rochford, age 83, of Rocky River, Ohio, passed away on November 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 22, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas and Violet Rochford.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 38 and spent his career as an electrician—a trade he not only mastered, but truly loved. Even in retirement, he enjoyed staying active with home projects and spending time with his lifelong friends, whose company he treasured. A lifelong supporter of Cleveland sports, he cheered faithfully through every season.
He leaves behind his children James Rochford Jr. (Barb) and Mary Hernon (Mark), and his son-in-law Jeff Lowe; and his beloved grandchildren Megan, Nora, Owen, Allison, and Liam, who brought him immense joy.
He is survived by his siblings Kathy Rochford, Jack Rochford (Debbie), and Tom Rochford (Kathy). He is welcomed into heaven by his cherished wife of 51 years, Clara Rochford; his daughter Marlene Rochford; and his sister Noreen Rochford Mannen.
James was known for his sharp wit and easy humor—always ready with a joke, a clever one-liner, or a story that left everyone laughing. During his later years, James shared his time with Bittsie, who brought companionship and moments of joy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Christopher Parish, 20141 Detroit Rd., Rocky River, Ohio on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Friends and family will be received in the West Annex of the church from 10:30–11:00 AM, with Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.
