

Karen Lee (nee Tame) Chatlos, 81, of Fairview Park, born July 2, 1944, was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, passing peacefully at home in her sleep surrounded by family. Karen was predeceased by parents Alice Laverne (nee Terbrack) and George Anders Tame; as well as her youngest brother Craig Tame (Kathleen St. John). Karen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edward Joseph Chatlos, and her brother Gary Tame (Gary Wood).
Karen and Ed have 4 sons: Jeffrey (Amy nee Regelin), Brian, Timothy, and Gregory (Kelsey nee Coburn). Jeff and Amy added four amazing grandchildren to the family: Allison, Amelia, Colin and Madeline. Karen leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Msgr. William E. Elliott, Ed.D., who officiated at Karen’s 1970 marriage ceremony to Ed, and will co-officiate at Karen's St. Angela's funeral mass.
Karen was a proud graduate of St. Augustine Academy where she made lifelong cherished friends. After being a teen volunteer at a hospital, Karen chose a career in nursing and worked as a LPN and RN. While personally rewarding, Karen took even greater joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother.
All four of her sons attended St. Angela Merici school where she volunteered for 25 years. Her sons are all grown and each is successful in their careers, a testament to Karen's love and devotion to her family. Karen was selfless and giving; always ready to be helpful to anyone in need. She will be missed by many and sharing her memory and experiences keep her in the minds of all who loved and adored her.
Family and friends may visit Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park, Sunday, March 29, 2026 between 1:30 to 4:30 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, 10:00 AM at St. Angela Merici Church, 20970 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park (next door to the funeral home). Interment will be at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, 32789 Detroit Rd, in Avon.
