Kathleen Julia Bauman, 97, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013. Kathleen was born on Mackinac Island., Michigan on December 25, 1915. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Samuel B. Bauman, and brothers William and Robert McCarty. Surviving Kathleen are her son William (Deborah) and children Julie duPont (Geordie) and Brian (Julie), son David (Beth) and children Bridget , Megan Rider (Chris), Ryan (Cara), daughter Kathleen Howell (Michael) and children Alyssa and Patrick . She loved and enjoyed all her 11 great-grandchildren. Kathleen graduated from Ursuline College and Western Reserve University with a Masters Degree from the School of Applied Social Sciences. Kathleen worked in social services for Catholic Charities of Cleveland after graduation. Kathleen enjoyed returning to her beloved Mackinac Island every summer to vacation with her family. She will be missed by her entire family but will live on in all their memories. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Angela Merici Church, 20970 Lorain Rd. Fairview Park, Ohio, on Saturday, November 9th at 11:30a.m. Calling hours will take place at 10:00 am at Corrigan Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd. (adjacent to the church). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Ursuline College, Development Office, 2550 Lander Road, Pepper Pike, Ohio 44124, John Carroll University, Development Office, University Heights, Ohio 44118.

I will always remember Mrs. Bauman as a woman of great dignity, humanity, warmth and humor. She stood out among those in our neighborhood as a woman of class, but never haughty. She was a rare gem.
