He was born on July 11, 1936 in Fairview Park, OH as the second oldest of four children. Growing up there he spent most of his free time playing baseball with neighborhood friends. After graduating from Fairview High School, he joined the United States Army stationed at Fort Knox, KY where he worked as a Radio Mechanic. He was discharged in 1962 and found a job working at Ohio Bell Telephone Company. Shortly after this he was laid off and decided to rejoin the Army for two more years. After an Honorable discharge in 1965, he rejoined Ohio Bell and worked for 38 more years before retiring at the end of 1995.
Len played baseball for 40+ years, many of them in leagues with his younger brother Paul, winning numerous trophies. In his retirement years, Len would be found playing in regular and senior volleyball leagues. In the 2010s he found pickleball as his new sports passion. He also enjoyed shooting pool weekly with his friends.
In 1962 he married Elizabeth Ernst and had 3 children, Tom, John, and Dianne.
Through the years, Len spent time helping others learn the basics of various sports: baseball, basketball, golf, and volleyball. He enjoyed his time with his grandchildren Mark Drobnak, Cassidy Miller, Rachel Drobnak, Brian Drobnak, and Griffin Miller, always trying to teach them the basic skills that made the sports he enjoyed playing fun.
Len was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Mary (Dolinsky) Drobnak and his siblings, Barbara Brenchley (Bill), Paul (Ellen) and Andrew (Mary Anne). He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth and his three children Tom (Joan), John, and Dianne.
