Margaret (Wenner) Filippi of Brunswick, Ohio, more commonly known as Gitta, has joined her husband John, her parents Frank and Katharina (Zillich) Wenner, her brother John Wenner and the rest of our departed relatives in heaven. She leaves behind sister Anna Wimmer(Ludwig deceased), sister-in-law Ilona Wenner, and children, Robert (Elisabeth), Anna (Karl deceased) Morgenthaler, and John J.(Linda); Grandchildren, Erika (Ryan) Temple, Maria (Robert) Fabian, Nikolaus (Nicole)Filippi, Audrey (Brandon) Wren, Victoria (Rich) Dibler, Katherine (Roy) Napoli, Gregory (Victoria Hatch) Filippi, Patricia (Steve) Cunningham, Jeffrey Filippi, and Jonathan Filippi; Great-grandchildren, Ava, Sebastian, Matthias, Alexander, Johanna, Lydia Gitta, Mikayla, Monika, Anton, Elijah, Dominic, Gavin, Juliana, Corbin, Karalynn, Giovanna, Emerick, Rosalee, Olivia, Adrick, Lillian, Gabriel, Christian, and Jakob. Gitta was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to the entire family. Her special skills included cooking, baking, and sewing among others. Her version of the famous Hungarian “Dobos Torte” was among our favorites. She was also an avid canasta player, a hobby that she and dad enjoyed for most of their 62 years of marriage. She sang with the Banater Chor of Olmsted Twp. for over 50 years and was active on the boards of both the Banater Club and the Donauschwaben GACC. Many years ago Gitta was selected German-American Woman of the year by the Federation of German-American Societies, an honor she always cherished. Above all she loved her family and that love will remain in our hearts forever! Family will receive friends and extended family 4-8 PM Sunday April 30th at Corrigan-Craciun Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday 10 AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church at W.54th and Lorain, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery on Brookpark Road(Sec.40: Lot 3095 Grave 1)
