

Oliver James Jackson (Fella), 78, of Beachwood, Ohio, passed away on August 26, 2026. Born December 29, 1947, Oliver lived with steady purpose and a deep regard for those he loved, carrying himself with quiet dignity and devotion to family.
Oliver served in the Army, a commitment that reflected a life shaped by duty and respect. His service remains a meaningful part of his story and a point of honor for those who knew him.
He was the beloved son of Nellie Jackson McKinney and was very close to his parents. Oliver’s love for family was constant and evident—especially in the care he showed for his nephews and nieces, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is survived by his mother, Nellie Jackson McKinney; his aunt W. Nell Ezekiel; his cousins Jesse Calhoun, Jacqueline Calhoun, Joycelyn Calhoun, Sage Calhoun, Robyn Calhoun, Kimberly Rives, Tracy Rives, David and Jason Rives; as well as many other relatives and friends.
In his personal life, Oliver found genuine contentment in simple, lasting joys: fishing, music, family activities, and the companionship of animals. These interests reflected a gentle spirit and an appreciation for time shared—moments that became memories for those around him.
A Graveside Service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273, US, on September 1, 2026 at 2:15 pm.
Oliver will be remembered with respect, gratitude, and enduring affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
