Peter Delvigs

PETER DELVIGS, age 92. Beloved husband of 60 years to Irene (nee Schwarz). Loving father of Astra Delvigs (Mark Hahn). Cherished brother of Margaret Drummond (Christopher, deceased). Dearest brother -in- law of Adolf Schwarz (Kathleen). Dear uncle of Alison, Alexander, Benjamin (deceased), Ian, Andrew, Robert, Anastasia, Alexis and Darius (deceased). Also survived by many dear friends.

Peter will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, and deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. He had a lifelong love of animals, especially cats, and found great happiness in classical music, reading, and gardening.

Professionally, he dedicated many years to NASA as an Aerospace Chemist before retiring in 2001. He earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and was highly respected not only for his scientific accomplishments, but also for the guidance and encouragement he provided to young people through mentoring during his career.

Outside of his professional life, he was actively involved in his community and served as director of the Lake Erie Soccer League until his mid-40s. He also cherished traveling to South Carolina with friends, creating many lasting memories along the way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Friendship APL located at 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, in the funeral home at 12 PM. Interment Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 AM - time of service at the Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park, OH 44126.
