He was born on May 1, 1956, in Bay Village, Ohio, to the late Robert Paul Stevens Sr. and Elizabeth Teeple Stevens, and grew up in Rocky River, Ohio.
Robert was the loving father of his only son, David (Mandy) Stevens, and stepfather to Samantha (Brian) Long. He was a proud grandfather to Emma, Olivia, and Liam. He was the beloved brother of Dean (Janice) Stevens and Chris (Lisa) Stevens, and was preceded in death by his brother Richard (Mary) Stevens. He was also a treasured uncle to Lisa, Justin, Jordan, Andy, and Michael.
Robert was formerly married to Patricia Stevens, with whom he shared his son, David, and later to Sandra Stevens.
A graduate of Rocky River High School, Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He spent his younger years working as a mechanic, a natural fit for someone with a lifelong love of anything with an engine, and later worked in manufacturing.
Robert had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and cars, loved rock and roll music, and had a special place in his heart for animals of every kind. He enjoyed sailing, good seafood, and being near the water. Having once lived in California, Robert was always a bit of a California dreamer and often talked about wanting to make his way back to the West Coast someday.
Fun-loving and kind, Robert enjoyed the simple things in life and brought that spirit to those around him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of fun, the things he loved, and the many memories he leaves with his family and friends.
He will be deeply missed.
