Dearly beloved wife of over 50 years to John G. Vertal (deceased). Devoted mother of Deborah (John) Brutvan, John III (Diane), Lynda (Edward deceased) Ledvina, Patricia (Patrick) O'Reilly, and Theresa Humphreys (deceased). Grandmother to 15 grandchildren and great grandmother to 10 great grandchildren. Treat supplier and companion to her many dogs and granddogs.
Sharon was steadfast in her faith that helped her through a life of adversity. She was most happy spending time with her large and growing family, as she had been raised as an only child. She was always organizing family picnics and weekend camp outs with everyone playing volleyball and baseball. She volunteered at the school as her children were growing up, then worked several clerical jobs until she retired. Lovingly called “grandma hobo” by her grandchildren after the dog that most of the grandchildren knew when they were younger. An avid baseball fan, she loved attending Indians games even as a young child. She spent countless hours watching her children and grandchildren in every sport, baseball, wrestling, tennis, football and ice-skating. Her favorite, though was watching family members play softball, first her husband, then her children and grandchildren. She even put together and managed a women’s team for her daughters and daughter-in-law and friends. She tolerated her kids endless teasing with a great sense of humor and a gentle smile. She was loved and cherished by so many and will truly be missed by everyone she knew.
A visitation for Sharon will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park, Ohio 44126. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Parish, 15800 Montrose Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44111.
