Daughter of Joseph and Frances Singell (Emerick). Beloved wife of Clarence Hnanicek who preceded her in death in 2005. They met when she was a candy striper and were married for 56 years. Pop loved to make her laugh. Loving mother of Kathleen McDermott, Joseph C. Hnanicek (deceased), Janet C. Hnanicek, Clarence H. Hnanicek (Lori) and Rachelle Hnanicek. Cherished grandmother of James (Becki), Joe Jr., Daniel (deceased), Veronica (Brandon), Erin (Matt), Brian (Sommer), Adam, Nathan, Shane (Erin) and Connor. Great grandmother of 16 and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by 3 of her 8 siblings.
Violet served for many years at Faith Chapel Primitive Methodist Church in Strongsville, Ohio and at Conneautville Bible Camp in Pennsylvania. When she wasn't serving the church or working for the Cleveland Public School system, she enjoyed reading, quilting and fishing in Canada and took great pride in tending to her yard, flowers and vegetable garden. Bird feeders were a must. She loved visits from her family, especially her grandchildren, which she knew their favorite foods and games would always be waiting.
The Hnanicek Family wishes to express their gratitude to Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living, for their daily care, as well as the nurses of Miracle City Hospice for their many kindnesses and to Pastor Eric Kulth, for his spiritual guidance during this challenging time.
A private memorial will be held at a later date, per her wishes. Donations may be made in loving memory to either the National Kidney Foundation; kidney.org/donation or Our Daily Bread Ministries at odb.org to continue their outreach ministry.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.corrigancraciun.com for the Hnanicek family.
