Adam C. Franco, age 32, of Fall River, passed away surrounded by family and friends Monday, March 16, 2015 after several courageous battles with brain cancer. He was the husband of Angela L. (Benevides) Franco and father to Logan Jude Franco of Fall River. He also leaves behind his best friend and beloved dog Spike.
Born in Fall River, a son of Charlie A. and Kathleen (Depin) Franco of Fall River, he had been a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of Bishop Connolly High School, class of 2001, he received his Associate’s Degree in Automotives from New England Technical Institute. He was also the owner and operator of GQ Construction.
Adam was employed as a Firefighter by the City of Fall River and was assigned to Engine 2, although he mostly worked on Heavy Rescue One. He was a member of the Fire Dive Rescue Team, the Bristol County Technical Rescue Team and Fall River Fire Local 1314. He was passionate about the MDA Fill the Boot Drive and continued to fight fires while he battled cancer. To the end, he remained a highly respected member of the Department.
He loved summer, cooking out, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed ball games, darts, blue and working on cars.
In addition to his wife, son, and parents, he is survived by his brother: Christopher A. Franco and his wife Jennifer of Peabody, MA, his grandmother: Gilda Franco of Fall River, nieces: Charlotte and Chloe Franco and Phoebe DeMelo, and nephew Evan Franco.
His Memorial Service will be on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River.
