Anne G. Twardzik

Anne (Guilfoy) Twardzik, 73, of Fall River passed away at her familial home on Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Julian C. Twardzik to whom she had been married for over 48 years.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Genevieve (Duffy) Guilfoy and William H. Guilfoy. She graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School in 1969 and attended SMU (UMass Dartmouth) earning a degree in sociology. Anne worked for a time as a social worker and then became a homemaker and a devoted mother to one --- before re-entering the workforce during her daughter’s collegiate years --- as a social worker at Early Intervention for People Incorporated. She briefly raised her family in Westport before moving back to Fall River.

Anne is predeceased by her mother, Genevieve (Duffy) Guilfoy, her father William H. Guilfoy, her brother William (Billy) Guilfoy and her nephew Chad William Guilfoy.

Anne is survived by her husband, Julian C. Twardzik, daughter, Cathleen Anne Twardzik and her husband Christopher Powers, brother Frank Guilfoy and his wife Nancy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Additionally, Anne is survived by her sister-in-law Katherine Taylor and husband James Taylor of Dartmouth, her sister-in-law Carolyn O’Brien of Westport and her brother-in-law John Twardzik and wife Donna of Dartmouth.

Anne loved spending time with her family and many friends. Her strength and determination defined the way she raised her daughter.

Anne loved the beach and spent copious summer days with her family at Baker's Beach in Westport.

Anne also loved to travel --- from Disney World to a cross-country trip to weekend getaways in the White Mountain National Forest.
