Constance (Krecioch) Barboza, age 90, of Fall River passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Southpointe Rehabilitative & Skilled Care. She was the wife of the late ‘Sam’ Barboza and the late Michael Hebda.

Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Francis A. and Katherine B. (Socha) Krecioch, she has been a lifelong resident of the city and attended BMC Durfee High School. Mrs. Barboza worked in the former Bristol Knitting Mill as an Inspector for 23 years until her retirement in 1983. Prior to that, she had worked at the Torpedo Station in Newport, RI during World War II.

She was a very active member of the former Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, now the Blessed Trinity National Catholic Church in Fall River, where she was a member of its choir. Mrs. Barboza was also a former member of the King Philip Settlement House and a former member and officer of the Polish American War Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was passionate about reading.

She is survived by three children: Paula J. Pacheco and her husband Vasco of Swansea, Nancy J. Hanoud and her husband Paul of Rehoboth, Michael Hebda and his wife Patricia of Swansea, seven grandchildren, Jessica and Rebecca Pacheco, Joshua and Leah Hanoud, Michael and Danny Hebda and Katie Schifino, three great-grandsons, Aidan, Austin and Alexander Hebda, a brother Eugene Krecioch of Cranston, a sister Rose Gaffney of Fall River and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph and Alexander Krecioch.

Her funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Blessed Trinity National Catholic Church, 1340 Plymouth Ave. [corner of Winthrop St.], Fall River. Burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Blessed Trinity National Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements are in the care of the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE.
