Born in Fall River, MA a son of the late Charles F. and Irene (Hoar) Curtis he was a lifelong resident of the city.
Dennis was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church and a longtime member of the Elks, Border City Club and Lawnmower Café. He was a North End (Steep Brook) icon with a contagious smile and engaging personality. He placed a high value on his many friendships and will leave a void in the lives of everyone who cherished and loved him.
Dennis enjoyed boating, was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and a Red Sox and Patriots fan. He retired from St. Patrick’s Cemetery after 20 years of service, returning as a seasonal employee until sickness sidelined him.
He is survived by one son, Dennis J. Curtis and his wife Danielle of Somerset; one brother, William Curtis; a granddaughter, Lucille Curtis; his girlfriend, Susan Auclair and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James F. Curtis and Charles E. Curtis.
Following cremation His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 North Main St., Fall River. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
