Dennis C. Hurley

Dennis C. Hurley, age 90, of Fall River, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth “Bette” (O’Brien) Hurley.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a son of the late Dennis C. and Mary Jane (Desmond) Hurly, he was a graduate of Msgr. Coyle High School and Bentley College. He was a CPA in the accounting firm of Mobouck, Mitchell and Hurley, and later was associated with the CPA firm of Meyer, Reagan and Wilner LLP.

A Navy Veteran of World War II Navy Air Corps, he was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a recipient of the Marion Medal from Bishop Daniel A. Cronin, Past Faithful Navigator and Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #86, and founding member of Knights of Columbus at Sacred Heart Church, Fr. Francis J. Quinn Council #15405. He was trustee of Narragansett Financial Corp., Director of Bay Coast Bank, member of the Fall River Clover Club and Choir, Kiwanis Club, and past President of People Inc. Surviving one sister: Ruth E. Hurley of Fall River and many beloved cousins. He was the brother of the late Janice M. and Mary T. Hurley.

His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St. Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Sacred Heart Church, Linden St. Fall River. Visiting hours Monday from 3:00 to 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Southcoast V.N.A., 200 Mill Rd. Fairhaven, MA 02719. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
