Doris, 28 years of friendship. Thru all the laughter, and tears we were always there for each other. The years have gone by too fast. So many wonderful memories I have of us... our first trip to Washington, our vacation to Virginia Beach, the cookouts at your home... I could go on forever, and that’s how your loving memory will forever be in my heart. We will forever miss you, but will hold you in our hearts forever. RIP our beloved friend till we meet again. With deepest sympathies to the entire Giunta family, we remember Doris. She was a quiet but determined force in honoring Tommy's memory. When we asked Doris' advice on what Tom would want, she immediately said "children" and "education". Thus, some 25+ years later, now honoring all five officers the FRPD lost, the scholarships continue to be our largest focus. The annual Road Race became our biggest fundraiser supporting those scholarships, so Doris threw all her energy into making it better and more financially sound. Even as she handed the groundwork reins to Dave Pacheco, she remained involved on a daily basis, literally. We will remember Doris always and continue her work.

Our world has lost an angel. She didn’t deserve to suffer. But she made the most out of her time on this earth. Now she gets to join the love of her life in a better place. Fly high our dear sweet friend. Until we meet again...

The amount of memories we share would fill a novel, the amount of tears I have cried would fill a swimming pool, the amount of love everyone has for you will last a lifetime and then some. You were my Mimi, my best friend, my savior. I love you.

I knew Doris when she was a Family Resource for DCF something that she did for many years. Doris had an incredible heart and cared very much for the children/teens that came to stay with her especially those who remained permanently with her. She also had a great love for animals especially dogs that she would foster until homes could be found. You could not meet a kinder, loving a truly genuine person. She will be missed, but I am truly glad that I had the opportunity to work with Doris, but most importantly I got to know a wonderful person.
My condolences to the family wishing you comfort and peace in this time of sadness.

So many memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. I miss our dream team of fostering all the puppies especially the Von Trapp litter. They kept us a n our toes especially bc that was when we kept having snow storm after snow storm. The countless numbers of laughs and yes many tears also. You picked me up when I was down always encouraged me but most of all you made me feel like I was not just a friend but your daughter. I will hold you in my heart forever until we meet again. I love you. Rest in the sweetest peace my forever angel.
