Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Francis S. and Ruth E. (Tavares) Ferreira, she was a graduate of B.M.C Durfee High School, attended Bristol Community College, and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
Betty worked as a Counselor at Stepping Stone for many years and was a babysitter at Workout World. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, and traveling.
She is survived by her sister, Donna Dean of Berkeley; nieces, Tammy Zimmerman of Lakeville and Dawn Mahan of Assonet; nephews, David Dean of Taunton and Adam Dean of Acushnet; special nieces, Amanda, Ashley and Amy Paulino all of Fall River; two great nieces and eight great nephews.
Her Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 8:15 to 9:15 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
