Elsie G. Dolan

Elsie G. (Wagner) Dolan, age 98, of Mitchell Drive in Fall River, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late School Committee and City Councilor Francis C. “Happy” Dolan.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Miller) Wagner, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1936, she worked as a bookkeeper at Fitton Movers for over 25 years before retiring in 1982. Prior to that, Mrs. Dolan worked as an Aide at the former Truesdale Hospital.

She was a longtime communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church, a former member of the Heritage Singers, a member of A.A.R.P. and the Retired State County and Municipal Employees Association. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Faxon Animal Rescue League.

She is survived by one daughter, Judith Dawn Dolan of Fall River and several nieces. She was the sister of the late Richard Wagner.

Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Faxon Animal Rescue League, 474 Durfee St., Fall River, MA 02720.
