Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Achille S. and Mary (Merola) Sperduti. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1942, Genevieve worked as a Financial Assistant for the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance in Fall River, retiring in 1987.
She is survived by six children, Paula J. Mello of Swansea, Carol A. Aguiar of Fall River, R. Andrew Gardella of Maryland, Stephen P. Gardella and his wife Lori, Peter D. Gardella, and John F. Gardella and his wife Lisa, all of Fall River as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Genevieve was predeceased by all four of her siblings.
Her Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 8:15 to 9:15 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Holy Trinity Church, 951 Stafford Rd., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
