Genevieve Souza

Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal, a daughter of the late Antonio and Maximina (Roque) Braga, she immigrated to the United States in 1964 having settled in Fall River.

Educated in Acores, she worked as a Machine Operator at River Falls for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, flowers, traveling and going to Portuguese “Festas” Feasts. Genevieve loved to cook and have a clean home.

She is survived by one son, Bryan Souza of Rehoboth; one sister, Dorvalina Pereira and her husband Eduardo of Fall River; one brother, Silvino Braga and his wife Alda of Ontario, Canada, brother-in-law, Manuel Sousa of CA; sister-in-law, Debbie Braga of Fall River and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gilberta Sousa and Antonio Braga.

Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 9:00 AM from the Waring Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, Essex St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours from Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
