

Georges Karam, age 92, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Georges was born in 1925 in Bkhechtay, Lebanon. He was the son of the late Karam and Sarah Karam. He immigrated to Fall River in 1986, but spent many summers in his beloved hometown in Lebanon.
Georges was married to and is survived by his loving wife Josephine Karam of 63 years. He is preceded in death by his brothers Bcharra and Emile, and his sister Katherine Karam. He is survived by his sister Georgette Karam Yamin of Fall River. He is also survived by his six children: his daughter Fadia Youssef and her husband Aslan of Somerset; his son Albert Karam and his wife Paula of Fall River; his son Simon Karam and his wife Nancy of Fall River; his son Karam Karam and his wife Jocelyne of Westport; his daughter Najwa Akouri and her husband Tony of Fall River; and his son Elie Karam and his wife Julia of Fall River. He was known as “Giddo” to fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Georges loved to sit on his porch at his house in Bkhechtay over looking his garden and drinking coffee with all his friends and family. He always made sure anyone who came to his house was well-fed and loved to share meals with his children and grandchildren. Georges was known for his sense of humor that everyone enjoyed. He will be missed but always remembered.
His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 9:00 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 289 N. Main St. Fall River. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
