Henry R. Alves Sr.

Henry R. Alves, Sr., age 70, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

Born in Fall River, he was a life-long resident of the city. Hank served in the United States Army for 16 years and later worked as a custodian for the City of Fall River School Department for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Corky Row Veteran’s Club in Fall River.

Survivors include: his loving parents, Maurice and Irene Bernier of Tennessee; two sons, Henry R. Alves, Jr. and his wife Karen of Fall River and Bruce Alves also of Fall River; four grandchildren, Cassandra, Alyssa and Kayla Alves and Amanda Couture; six siblings, Warren Alves, Jeff, Michael, Maurice, Sandy and Sally Bernier; several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Joseph Alves and Andrea Bernier.

His funeral and burial will be private.

To Henry's family, please accept my condolences. I knew Henry from the Vet Center on Pine Street in Fall River. Along with his brother Warren, we shared some laughs & stories. He will definitely be missed. May he rest in peace.
