Born in Fall River, a son of the late Arthur T. and Mary (Souza) Joaquim, he was a lifelong resident of the city.
He was a graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Culinary Program. He worked as a computer technician at IBM and also as a pest control technician for Terminix.
He is survived by one brother, A. Thomas Joaquim and his wife Charlene; one sister, Linda Leboeuf and her husband Paul all of Fall River; niece, Nicole Mello; nephews, Joshua and Justin Leboeuf; great nieces and nephews, Sydney and Peyton Mello, Kaylee Trask, Isabella Keisling and Gianna and Jacob Leboeuf.
Private services are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, Fall River. Contributions in James' honor may be to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
