James E. "Jimmy" Lane

Born in Gate City, Virginia, Jimmy was the son of the late Grover and Pearl Mae (Harron) Lane. He spent many years living in Westport, MA before settling permanently in Winter Haven several years ago.

A proud veteran, Jimmy served in the United States Navy as a Radioman aboard the USS Lake Champlain. Following his military service, he worked for 23 years at Applied Plastics Technologies, where he rose to the position of plant manager before retiring in 2010.

Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, hunting, target shooting, and spending time at his beloved home in Maine. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Susanne, his daughters Lisa Connors and her husband Fred of Bozrah, CT, and Tracy Lane of Warwick, RI; his step-sons Michael Barton and his wife Tiffany of Amarillo, TX, Kevin Barton and his wife Melissa of Westport, MA, and Jamie Barton of Westport, MA; and his sister Joe Ann Henry of Virginia. Jimmy also leaves behind six grandchildren—Christopher, Sarah, Amanda, Rachel, Cameron, and Wyatt—and six great-grandchildren—Hayden, Bella, Hunter, Ryan, Lily, and Isaac—as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Samuel Lane, Jackie Lane, and Mary Henderson.

His memorial service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
