Jane McGlynn Hoyle, BS, RN, CCRN, age 60, of Tiverton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 12, 2025. She was the devoted wife of John W. Hoyle, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Born in Fall River, Jane was the daughter of the late Edward and Annette (Hurel) McGlynn. She spent the majority of her life in Tiverton, RI where her warmth, compassion, and strength touched all who knew her..
A proud 1982 graduate of Tiverton High School, Jane followed her mother’s footsteps in nursing with dedication and grace. She earned her associates degree through the Newport Hospital School of Nursing in 1986 and a bachelor's degree from Roger Williams University in 1998, alongside best friend Liz Levesque. Jane devoted her career to the care of others, working for nearly four decades at St. Anne’s Hospital, where she became a respected Clinical Leader in the Intensive Care Unit. In 2008 Jane was the first to receive the prestigious Nurse of Distinction award. Her colleagues admired her skill, leadership, and unwavering commitment to patient care.
Jane was empathetic, an incredible story teller, and knew the power of keeping everyone laughing. She was an avid reader and trivia enthusiast. She found peace and happiness at the beach - especially at Briggs Beach in Little Compton, RI. She also held a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life, always enjoying good company and a glass of French wine.
Jane treasured time spent with her family and friends, especially her beloved “Slipper Group,” which consisted of her lifelong friends Brenda Cote Murphy, Nicole Masullo, and Nancy McDonald, whose laughter and love meant the world to her.
As Jane always said, “Family is everything.” She is survived by her loving husband, John; her daughter, Hannah Hoyle McDonald, and son-in-law, Daniel, of Norwood, MA ; her brothers, John McGlynn and his wife Nancy of Tiverton, RI and James McGlynn and his wife Marsha of Killingworth, CT; as well as in laws, Joan and Bob Boucher of Dartmouth, MA/Naples, FL and Dennis Hoyle of Cranston, RI. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joanne McGlynn.
Her funeral will be held Monday, June 23, 2025, at 8:30 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, MA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 327 Second Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
