

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Thomas and Ann (Burke) Clancy; she was a graduate of the Sacred Hearts Academy and the former Union Hospital School of Nursing. During her nursing career, she worked at Union Hospital in the medical surgical wards, and later at Truesdale Hospital as one of the first CCU nurses. Jean later was employed as a public Health nurse for the city of Fall River, assigned to follow high risk newborns and their mothers. Prior to retiring, she worked as a School Nurse for the Holy Name School..
Jean loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She loved to sew, creating many of the clothes family would wear through the years as well as many heirloom pieces. She also enjoyed baking, especially Chocolate Chip Pistachio Bundt Cake with whipped Cream frosting. She also enjoyed organizing the family trips over the years to Westport Harbor and College Pond, and field trips to historic sites.
She is survived by her children Phyllis J. Troia and her husband Richard Wickenden of Plymouth, Susan T. Ferguson of VA, Thomas B. Troia of Seekonk, Daniel B. Troia of Bristol, Barry P. Troia of Fall River and Mark J. Troia of VA; six grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Chloe, Madeline, Emily and Sam; four great-grandchildren, Liam, Freya, Fox and Ida. She was the sister of the late Phyllis, Constance, Eileen and Ann, and mother-in-law of the late Frank Ferguson and Evelyn Troia.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover Street, Fall River, MA 02720. Relatives and friends are invited.
