So sad to hear about Jeff.  Our sincere condolences.  A few of my memories of him.....  When we played poker with Jeff, everyone but him went home a winner!  He loved Duke Snyder and the Dodgers.  Jeff had the weirdest looking jump shot, he was Bob Cousy in slow motion.  Jeff WAS Walter Mitty at Palisades!  God bless the genuine man he was!  He'll be missed here in DC.

We remember many weekend pinochle games with Jeff when we were in DC in the late 60. Seems like there was some beer involved too. Will be thinking about his family. Tom and Jill McCracken, Springfield, IL

I was saddened to learn of Jeff's death.  My thoughts and prayers go out to him and to his family.  Jeff and I were office mates at IRS, friends, and competitors for management positions.  We each had a wacky sense of humor and a zany imagination, and we came up with numerous off-the-wall ideas for work and play.  He was the best man at my wedding.  We shared many a lunch hour at the old Crown Bar and Grill on E Street.  I remember his big smile, his booming laugh, and the twinkle in his eye.  I loved hearing his (embellished) yarns about his prowess on the basketball court.  Invariably, if Jimmy Nelson was present those balloons were burst.  I fondly recall the Nelson-Frederick office picnics in Rockville organized by Jeff and Pete Frederick.  People like Jeff do not often come my way.  May God hold him in the palm of His hand.

Jeff and I were in third grade together at Holy Trinity, my prayers are with his family.

Such sad news for all who knew Jeff.

I lived with Jeff for a year or so in a basement apartment near the old Grog and Tankard Sports Bar on Wisconsin  Ave. We had many, many good times in the mid 1960's  - lots of lasting memories for sure. Jeff was the "best man" at my wedding and my son is named after him. Time after time, he was always there for me - a real true friend! God Bless.

Knew Jeff and his brothers from Grade School at Holy Trinity plus the many years playing softball against him at Palisades.  Great guy. My condolences to the family.

This was such sad (and shocking) news to me when I read of Jeff's passing in this morning's Washington Post.  I saw Jeff a number of years ago at one of our "mini reunions."  He always had a twinkle in his eye, and such a happy smile.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this sad time.

Good Guy.  Art Ernst told us about how he and Jeff had dinner out one night and afterwards they went to Jeff's house.  When they got inside there was a huge racket coming from the basement.  Jeff didn't know what it was until he remembered that he  had invited a whole bunch of people over for a party that night.

Remember Jeff As a  young man on Stoddard playground where he coached soccer think it was the first time soccer is introduced to the states on the recreational level for youths .......                               Dean Trakas    (Alexandria Virginia)

I sure do remember Jeff, played many softball games against his team in the Palisades Adult League in DC.  He was a competitive guy and good leader of his teams, was a talented player who played hard, and much of the time had that great smile on his face.  Wish I'd known him better.
