Jenny Louise Ryan, age 98, of Fall River, Massachusetts, died July 23, 2026 at the Waterview Lodge and Rehabilitation Center in Ashland, Massachusetts, where she had been residing for the past two years.
Born in East Providence, Rhode Island to Jenny and Llewellyn Bradley, she moved to Fall River after her marriage to Robert Edmund Ryan and spent her entire life in Fall River as a homemaker, wife, and mother to her 4 children.
Jenny was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert, and her two brothers, Joseph and David Bradley. She is survived by her children, Jenny Ryan of Framingham, Massachusetts, Sheryl Ryan of Middletown, Pennsylvania, Millie McGarr and her husband Paul, of Westport, Massachusetts, and Robert Ryan and his wife Lisa of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, as well as three granddaughters, two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
A lifelong singer, choir member, and opera lover, Jenny was a devoted member of her church choirs, initially at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Riverside, Rhode Island, then St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Fall River, and most recently at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Fall River. Closer to home, she was also a passionate and talented gardener, winning awards for her flower gardens, as well as a skilled quilter, and an avid reader. Her main joys in life were her family, her local friends and her church community and these provided her with her greatest pleasures throughout her full life.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 160 Rock St, Fall River, Massachusetts, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited and asked to arrive directly at the church no later than 10:15 AM. Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Waring -Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. A luncheon will be provided following the funeral service.
