Joan Evelyn (Mills) Lamond, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 22, 2026. She was born on June 25, 1935 to Sarah J. (Ogden) Mills and Edwin Mills. She was the loving wife of Bruce A. Lamond, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Kenneth, Calvert, Vernon and Warren Mills, Grace King, and Ruth Chatterton; her grandsons, Matthew and Keith Lamond; and her great-granddaughter, Haylee Lamond.
Joan worked most of her life in banking. In later years she came out of retirement to work at Toys-R-Us, mostly to buy toys for her grandchildren. Joan was known for her kind and loving nature and her strong Christian faith. She was a second mother to many. Visiting her home always meant that you left with a full belly. She left a lasting impression on all who met her and she will be missed greatly by everyone who was privileged to know her.
She is survived by her children, David Lamond and his wife Elizabeth, Lorna Andoscia and her husband Robert, and Andrew Lamond and his wife Francine; her grandchildren, James, Christopher and Steven Lamond, Grace Morrison and her husband Jeff, and Alexander Oliveira; her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Silas Lamond and Rosalyn Morrison; her “extra daughter in laws”, Cheryl Lamond and Kathy Cournoyer; her “extra granddaughter”, Jamie Tevyaw; many nieces and nephews and many who simply thought of her as mom.
A service of remembrance will be held on October 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 4321 North Main Street, Fall River, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
