Joe C. Pavao

Joe C. Pavao, age 69, of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria C. (Fernandes) Pavao to whom he had been married for the past 33 years.

Born in Sāo Vicente, Sāo Miguel, Acores, he was the son of Laurinda (Cabral) Pavao of Fall River and the late Manuel Pavao. He worked as a fabric cutter at JoAnn Fabrics and as a fabric cutter and supervisor at Aberdeen for many years. Joe enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling, nature and birds. He was an avid Porto soccer fan.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four daughters, Kayla Pavao and her Fiancé Tyler Whitehead of Fall River, Tania Raquel Graca of Palm Coast, FL, Catarina Fernandes and her husband Bruno of South Carolina and Christina Karam and her husband Andre of N. Dartmouth; three brothers, Vincent Pavao and his wife Hilda of Swansea, Antone Pavao and his wife Karen of Swansea and John Pavao of Fall River; three grandchildren, Dayjah and Braylen Fernandes and Audrina Whitehead as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Maria Olivia Garcia.

His Funeral will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 189 Essex St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
