Joseph L. Medeiros, age 60, of Dartmouth, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Susan (Paiva) Medeiros to whom he had been married for the past 32 years.
Born in Nordeste, Sao Miguel, Acores, he was the son of the late Jose R. and Natalina (Placido) Medeiros. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1984, he worked as a Senior IT Manager for CVS. A devout catholic, he was a longtime communicant of Santo Christo Church.
A devoted fan of science fiction, he was captivated by the worlds of Star Wars and Star Trek and all things technology. Joe was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to his plants and flowers. A gentle and kind soul, his favorite times were spent with his family and friends who will miss his humor and corny jokes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Isaac J. Medeiros; one daughter, Olivia Medeiros both Dartmouth; one sister, Natalie Ferreira and her husband Paul; father-in-law, Manuel Paiva; sister-in-law, Wendy Viveiros and her husband Ceto; nephews, Jordan and Ethan Viveiros; godchild, Ashley Boleates all of Fall River and his beloved dogs, Faith, Ruby and Sunday.
His Funeral will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis, TN 38105. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
