

Judith A. “Judy” (Sylvia) Gagliardi, age 73, of Fall River, passed away, Friday, January 22, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Theodore “Ted” Gagliardi to whom she has been married for the past 53 years.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Myles and Anne (McLynch) Sylvia, she lived in Little Compton before moving to Fall River.
She was a graduate of Josephine Wilbur High School in Little Compton, class of 1960. She then devoted herself to raising her three children and also worked as a Dental Assistant for her brother-in-law Dr. John Gagliardi for many years.
An active member of Holy Name Church, she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and a CCD Instructor. Mrs. Gagliardi was the recipient of the Marian Medal which was awarded to her by the former Bishop Sean P. O’Malley.
She enjoyed quilting and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Theodore C. Gagliardi, Jr. and his wife Janet of Somerset, William A. Gagliardi and his wife Deneen of Easton, one daughter: Jennifer Taylor and her husband Jon of Fall River, one sister: Carolyn Faria and her husband Gabriel of Little Compton, seven grandchildren: Brandon, Collin, Evan, Kyle, Gina, Mark, and Ryan, and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Jeanne MacInnis and Thomas Sylvia.
Her Funeral will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 9:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Catholic Charities Appeal, P.O. Box 1470, Fall River, MA 02722. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
