Kathryn M. “Kitty” (Martin) D’Adamo, RN, age 87, of Fall River, died peacefully at home with her family in Fall River on Friday, January 6, 2017. She was the wife of the late Frederic D’Adamo to whom she was married for 57 years.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late City Councilor, Leo A. Martin and Ida (Levesque) Martin and the sister of Virginia A. Martin and the late Helen R. Holderness. She was the mother of Joseph M. D’Adamo and Virginia A. Frank, mother-in-law of Christopher E. Frank, and the proud and loving grandmother of her two little angels, Victoria and Christina Frank.

Though she had many fulfilling work experiences, such as caring for patients with polio and tuberculosis in the 1950’s, her favorite job was as the Head Nurse at Durfee High School where she worked with students for more than twenty years.
Kathryn found her greatest satisfaction from cooking and caring for her family. She was a lifelong sports fan, especially of the Celtics, the Red Sox, college basketball and most recently, the Bruins. She enjoyed crafts and making Christmas decorations, often with her brother-in-law, the late Joseph B. D’Adamo, for the holiday craft fair at Durfee.
She was an aunt to Paul D’Adamo (Peggy) and T.J. Holderness (Brenda) and Nancy R. Moore (Craig) and is survived by several grand nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family.
