Kenneth R. Dean, Jr.

Kenneth R. Dean, Jr., 79, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Paquette) Dean, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Taunton, Kenneth was the son of the late Kenneth R. Dean, Sr. and Dorothy (Suspiro) Dean. A graduate of Somerset High School, he continued his education at Roger Williams University before beginning a distinguished career as an engineer with Raytheon. Kenneth dedicated many years of service to the company before retiring in 2014.

A man of deep faith, Kenneth was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He found great joy in music and was an accomplished guitarist who performed with several bands throughout his life. Committed to serving his community, he also served as a former constable for the City of Fall River and as a member of the Fall River Police Auxiliary.

Kenneth appreciated life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed sharing a good meal with family and friends, was an enthusiastic collector. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with his ever-growing family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and the love he generously shared with those around him.

In addition to his loving wife, Elaine, Kenneth leaves behind his children: David Dean and his wife, Magdalina, of Taunton; Adam Dean of Dighton; Kehrey Dean of Rhode Island; Tammy Zimmerman and her husband, Tad, of Maine; and Dawn Dean of Freetown. He is also survived by his brother, Kerry Dean and his wife Ione of Dighton.

Kenneth was a cherished stepfather to Michele Evans and her husband, Mark, of Plymouth; Marc Callahan and his companion, Debbie Souza, of Ludlow; Theresa Rose and her husband, Jason, of Taunton; Jacqueline Callahan and her companion Patric Lockhart of New Bedford; and Megan Darsch and her husband, Michael, of Lakeville.

He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom will miss his gentle presence and enduring love.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 400 Cross Rd North, Dartmouth, MA 02747. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River.
