Lena S. Pomprowicz

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Anna (Kondej) Pomprowicz, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

She attended BMC Durfee High School and was a seamstress for various Fall River mills. Prior to that she was a sales associate at the former McWhirr’s Department Store.

A lifetime member of the former Blessed Virgin Mary, now Blessed Trinity Polish National Church, she was a member of the Parish Committee and the Chopin Choir and teacher for the School of Christian Living. She loved traveling and sewing for her nieces.

Surviving: sister- Mary S. Irla of Fall River, several nieces and nephews, 3 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew. She was sister of the late Anne Bronhard, Stephanie Krecioch, Stasia Dygas and Katherine Maslanka.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St. Fall River. Her family will receive friends in the funeral home from 10:00 – 11:00 prior to her Service. Contributions in her honor may be made to Perpetual Care for Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, c/o Blessed Trinity Parish, 37 Winthrop St. Fall River, MA 02721. Burial in Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery .
