

Luther P. “Louie” Lawton, age 72, of Portsmouth, passed away on January 30, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Andrea Silow, with whom he shared 38 years of love and companionship.
Born in Fall River, Louie was the son of the late Paul E. and Stella (Grygiel) Lawton.
A skilled craftsman, Louie began his career as the head outfitter at the former C & C Yachts in Middletown before transitioning to a successful 30-year tenure as a finish carpenter with Kirby Construction, retiring just last year.
Louie had a deep love for the water and cherished his time boating on his beloved boat “Bullwinkle.” His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for his family and friends, with whom he created lasting memories.
In addition to his wife, Andrea, Louie is survived by his stepdaughter, Alexandra Saphire and her husband, Jason, of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Beaue and Parker Saphire; his sisters, Paula Midura and her late husband John of Fall River, and Debra Wilbur and her husband Robert of Assonet; his niece, Kelly Kindstrom; nephews Eric Wilbur and Michael Wilbur; three great-nephews; one great-niece and several cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Glenn Lawton.
His funeral will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Parish, Rockland Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
