Margaret Ann O'Connell

Margaret Ann O’Connell, age 75, passed away on February 6, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born in Fall River, MA to the late P. Frank & Helen O’Connell. Margaret graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School in 1962 and went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from Fitchburg State University. She later moved to Tucson, Arizona and received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Arizona.

Margaret spent most of her career in special needs education. She was an extremely dedicated teacher to her students, and loved her job very much. She advocated for several grants and programs, helping to grow the special needs programs in her schools. Margaret provided students with the possibilities of going to space camps, professional golf programs as well as attending the U of A summer basketball camps.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers, Peter F. O’Connell and his wife, Pauline of Tiverton, RI and Charles E. O’Connell and wife, Lori of Tiverton, RI and nephews, Peter O’Connell Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Daniel O’Connell, Charles O’Connell Jr. and niece, Katherine O’Connell.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10:00AM in St. Christopher’s Church, 1554 Main Rd., Tiverton, RI. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
