
Margaret H. Walsh, passed away on June 21, 2015. The daughter of William J. Hoyle and Mary L. (Quirk) Hoyle, Margaret was a lifelong resident of Fall River. As a young woman she spent summers with her family in Portsmouth, R.I. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Immaculata Junior College in Washington, D.C. and Boston University.
Margaret was married to the late James Paul Walsh. James and Margaret raised five children: Sally (Sarah), Brian (James), Barbara (deceased), Susan and Patrick.
Margaret was employed for over thirty-five years by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a social worker. Upon her retirement she volunteered at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Margaret enjoyed traveling, having visited many European countries. She also traveled throughout the United States. Margaret loved meeting new people, reading, and having breakfast/lunch with her many friends and former classmates. Margaret regularly attended exercise class and for many years was seen by friends and neighbors on her early morning walks throughout the Highlands.
Margaret is survived by her children Sally and her husband Lawrence Finnerty of New Bedford, MA; Brian and his wife Beverly Walsh of Pownel, VT; Susan Walsh of Fall River; and Patrick and his wife Nancy Walsh of Acton, MA. Grandchildren Timothy and Kris Walsh of Fall River; James Walsh of Acton, MA; Allison and Rob McCoy of Berkley, MA; Tara Walsh of Fall River; Adam Cabral of Tiverton, RI; Eamonn Finnerty of Lakeville, MA; Gary and Carolyn Walsh of Needham, MA; Megan and Aaron Jackson of Sudbury, MA. Great-grandchildren; Morgan Cabral, Adam Cabral, Olivia Cabral, Riley Finnerty, Christian McCoy, and Roger Walsh. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Margaret is predeceased by her sister Mary (Hoyle) Kinnucan and brother, William Q. Hoyle.

Her Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
