Born in Livramento, Sao Miguel, Acores, a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Gloria) DeOliveira, she immigrated to Fall River in 1971 and worked at Roshell Apparel for over 20 years, retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Vertentes enjoyed crocheting, going to dances with her friends and vacationing.
Surviving: two daughters: Eduarda Sousa of Fall River and Laudalina Copeland and husband William of Tiverton, two sons: Alvaro Moniz and wife Maria and Valdemar Moniz all of Fall River, one brother: Manuel DeOliveira and wife Maria of Fall River, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Joao Luis Moniz and sister of the late Maria do Carmo Agnes, Maria do Rosario Bem and Alvaro Oliveira.
Her Funeral will be held Friday May 30, 2014 at 7:30 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter Street, Fall River with a funeral mass at 9 AM in St John of God Church, 1036 Brayton Avenue, Somerset. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 PM. Burial St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
