Maria H. (Sousa) Berube, age 71, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of Ronald R. Berube to whom she has been married for the past 49 years.
Born in Santa Maria, Acores, Portugal, a daughter of Anna (Freitas) Garcia of Fall River and the late Manuel Sousa, she immigrated to the United States in 1966 having settled in Fall River.
Educated in Portugal, she worked at St. Anne’s Hospital for many years and enjoyed travelling, sewing, and cooking.
In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Heidi Quero and her husband Jose of Cranston, RI; three sisters, Alma Rezendes and her husband Joseph of Fall River, Teresa Bearse and her husband Bill of Bourne, MA, Lisa Sousa of Fall River; sister-in-law, Cindy Sousa of Lakeville; two grandchildren, Nathan and Nora Quero and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph and Victor Sousa.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 9:45 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held from 8:45 to 9:45 AM prior to her service. Burial private.
