Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Acores the daughter of the late Manuel and Rosa (Rodrigues) Oliveira, she immigrated to Fall River in 1979.
A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Health Church. Strong and feisty, she was known to offer her family her sound advice. Her greatest joy was her visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Catholic Memorial Home for their wonderful care and support.
She is survived by one son, Jose DaSilva and his wife Marta of Fall River; four daughters, Natalia Pereira (late husband Guilherme) of Capelas, Maria Sousa (late husband Luis) of Fall River, Luciana Rodrigues and her husband Jose of Capelas and Maximina Paiva and her husband Oliverio of Fall River; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and son-in-law, Jose Rego. She was the mother of the late Suzette Rego and sister of the late Manuel, Jose and Gabriel Oliveira, Maria do Carmo Carvalho, her twin Fernandina Botelho, Conceicao Rego and Maria de Jose Rego.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Espirito Santo Church, 311 Alden Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3:00 – 6:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Contributions in her honor may be made to the Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Avenue, Fall River. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
