Marjorie M. West

Marjorie M. (Barlow) West, age 91, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at St. Anne’s Hospital, Fall River. She was the wife of the late Charles West.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Raymond and Hazel (Macomber) Barlow, she was a life-long resident of the city.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1945, she was a sewing machine operator for many years. After retiring she worked at Citizens for Citizens for ten years. An avid traveler, she enjoyed crafting, quilting and wood working. She was a member of AARP and attended Highland Adult Daycare.

Survivors include: four children, Susan Howarth and her husband Richard of Fall River, Gayle Reese and her husband Gerry of Pennsylvania, Lisa Morency and her husband Richard of Bristol, RI and Brian West and his wife Heidi of Westport; eight grandchildren, Sherrie, Tabatha, Kimberly, Tom, Chad, Luke, Casey and Samantha; eight great grandchildren, Caitlin, Jacob, Joshua, Juliana, Jillian, Quentin, Keith and Abigail; four great great grandchildren, Aidan, Mya, Nova and Gabriel and several nieces and nephews.

She was the grandmother of the late Katherine Cabral and sister of the late Hazel Chretian, Dorothy Piccirilli and Eleanor Charpentier.

Her visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Funeral and burial will be private. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to D.A.V., 755 Pine St., Fall River, MA 02720.
