Mary Germana (Cabral) DaCosta, age 63, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer Sunday, February 6, 2022 at her home in Fall River surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Jose M. DaCosta to whom she was married for 35 years.
Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, a daughter of the late Alfredo and Maria G. (Medeiros) Cabral she was a longtime resident of Fall River.
A truly out going person, she always had a smile for everyone and maintained an inspiring positive attitude. Germana enjoyed shopping at Macy’s, decorating for every season, attending all her nieces and nephews events and she cherished most the time spent with her family. A devout Catholic she was a communicant of Santo Christo Church and a member of Grupo de Oracao da Igreja de Espirito Santo in Fall River.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Jose deCabral and his wife Margarida and Manuel Cabral; one sister-in-law, Germana Benevides; three brothers-in-law, Orlando DaCosta and his wife Cidalia, Manuel DaCosta and his wife Sophina and Manuel dePaiva, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was the sister of the late Maria Conceicao Paiva.
Her visitation will be Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 8:30 – 10:30 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in Santo Christo Church, 185 Canal St., Fall River.
