He was the beloved husband of Susan (Partington) Larrivee; devoted father of Michelle (Larrivee) Kennedy of Somerset; and proud grandfather of Sean and Maura Kennedy of Somerset.
Moe was a 1962 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School. He went on to graduate from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1967 and continued his education in polymer chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Moe dedicated more than 40 years of his professional life to the Natick Soldier Systems Center, where he built a distinguished career in materials research and engineering. He served as Chief of the Materials Research and Engineering Division and as Director for Individual Protection. His expertise also led him to serve as a United States representative to a NATO committee specializing in combat clothing and individual protective equipment.
Throughout his career, Moe frequently traveled internationally as a representative of the United States in matters related to military services. His work gave him the opportunity to see much of the world—an experience he greatly valued and enjoyed throughout his life.
For all that Moe accomplished professionally and all the places his career allowed him to see, nothing meant more to him than his family.
In retirement, some of his greatest happiness came from simply being present for the people he loved. Attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, following their accomplishments, and celebrating every milestone became his favorite pastime. Whether from the sidelines, the stands, or wherever Sean and Maura’s lives took them, their grandfather was there—proudly and unquestionably their biggest fan.
And they, in turn, along with their mother, Michelle, and grandmother, Susan, will always be his biggest fans.
Moe will be remembered for a life marked by accomplishment, service, curiosity, and devotion to his family. His travels took him around the world, but the place that mattered most to him was always wherever his family was.
His visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by Words of Remembrance at 12:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, MA 02720. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be Private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moe’s memory to the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River or the Somerset Berkley Regional High School Boosters Club.
