Nancy Lambert, a cherished resident of Little Compton (formerly Tiverton) and a woman of profound faith, passed away on June 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and community. A devout Catholic and a long-time parishioner at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Little Compton and previously Holy Ghost Church in
Tiverton, Nancy’s life was a testament to her dedication to her family, her church, and her neighbors.
Known affectionately as "Momma Nance" to hundreds of young children, Nancy operated a home daycare for many years, where she nurtured and cared for generations of little ones with the warmth of a mother’s heart. Her professional career also included dedicated service at UMass Dartmouth and Heatherwood Subacute in Newport, RI. In her later years, she found great joy in serving lunches at the Tiverton Senior Center, continuing her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Nancy was a woman of many talents and vibrant interests. She was a gifted knitter whose hands were rarely still, and she found peace and expression through reading, painting, sewing, and crafting. She also remained active and health-conscious, enjoying regular exercise throughout her life.
Her commitment to her community was extensive. Nancy was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary 5392 in Tiverton, a member of the Tiverton Senior Center and the Tiverton Lions Club, and the Tiverton Senior Center Knitters. She was also active in the St. Ann's Society of Holy Ghost Church and a member of the Little Compton American Legion.
Her kindness, her creative spirit, and her unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 74 Simmons Rd., Little Compton. Relatives and friends are invited and asked to proceed directly to the church no later than 9:45 AM. Burial in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Her Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, MA.
