

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Louis and Mary Louise (L’Anoue) Yokel, he had been a lifelong resident of the city.
A Veteran of the United States Army he served during World War II as a Corporal. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of Fall River for over 30 years before retiring in 1982. After retirement he worked for the St. Vincent de Paul Society and at Finish Masters both in Fall River.
A devout catholic, Mr. Yokel was an active communicant at the former Notre Dame Church and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by one brother, Romeo Yokel of Fall River, and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, including his caregivers, Raymond and Roberta Duddy of Somerset. He was brother of the late Mary Nadeau, Azilda Posey, Florilda Bastille, Henry, Joseph, Arthur, and Armand Yokel.
His Funeral will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 8:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St. Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Bernadette’s Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
