Peter R. Hampston

Born in Fall River, a son of the late James Hampston Sr. and Alice F. (Brightman) Hampston, he was a lifelong resident of the city.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, he was a Veteran of the United States Army and the National Guard. Mr. Hampston was also a Vietnam Veteran. He was a Steamfitter Pipefitter with the Pipefitters Union Local 51, Providence.

He was a member of the Fall River Lodge of Elks #118, the AM Vets Post 60, the VFW Post 5390, the FOE, and a member of the Seaconnet Sportsman Club. He loved spending time with his nephews dog “Fred.”

In addition to his companion he is survived by one sister; Brenda Austin of Bristol, and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late James H. Hampston, Jr. and Jane F. Souza.

His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to his service from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Fall River Lodge of Elks, 4500 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
