Richard “Rick” Shove Borden II passed away surrounded by his immediate family on July 9th at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Shove Borden and Louise Mills Borden. He is survived by his loving wife Jennifer, his two sons Chad and Jake and his three grandchildren, Madi, Emma, and Benjamin. In addition to his immediate family, Rick leaves behind his two loyal brothers, Peter and his late wife Sally, David and his wife Edith, as well as their sons, daughters and grandchildren.
Rick was raised and spent the majority of his life in Acoaxet/Westport, Massachusetts spending 70 of his 80 years there. Rick attended the Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts for high school and graduated Babson College. He worked in the Commercial Real Estate market covering South Eastern Massachusetts for decades. He was a legendary broker in the field and he truly loved his work and absolutely cherished the relationships he developed over the decades.
Rick served in several leadership roles at the Acoaxet Club over the years (as did his father) and was proud of those positions. Rick loved being a loving husband, a strong father, a loyal big brother, and over the later part of life a father to several beautiful cats.
Rick loved to golf, spend time on the water and at the boathouse, talk to contacts and friends about real estate, watch his sons play football, catch up on his grandkids, make trips to Lee's Market, talk about the Patriots and the NFL draft, and talk to people in general. He was a true man’s man and will be GREATLY missed by everyone, especially his immediate family.
His private arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place in Fall River. To place an online tribute, please visit: www.waring-sullivan.com
